what do adult blog surfers want?

This question is a little vague so allow me to go more in depth. Of course when setting up a blog you pick your niche and focus your entries on that niche but how do you delivery the content without it turning into something that looks like a tgp/mgp?
Of course the blog entries will have plenty of text selling the advertised content but what are some other things adult bloggers can use to keep its readers entertained and turned into bookmarkers when theres a sea of free porn out there?

Erotic stories = bookmarkers
Free porn = bookmarkes
Fresh COntent = sales

just plug cool stuff that people will like in that niche. Get a userbase and then sell out :-) worked with my mainstream blogs...

Go against the flow. Never in any way stay within the topic of what you're advertising. Say, I have a content for black while my ads are white. Either they stay concerned with black or they keep coming back coz of white.

As for black, target audience. Have different ranges of target audiences. Have different blacks on different sites.

And you are mixing mainstream with the not-so-mainstream-white.

Interaction.

Give them the idea they are getting "involved" in the behind the scenes. You might think those people won't pay for anything, but it will make your blog popular. which will appeal to more surfers who will.

Basically it depends where you are getting your traffic from. Judging from my experience, they don't want a tgp style blog, they want galleries but you have to add content and community around it. The way I have my network set up, we filter the traffic coming in and retain it using the blog format. Less traffic than other methods, sure. But bottomline income has been okay for revenue diversity purposes

Hey Jack, I think you have to be over X number of posts. Most of the guys who have edited nicks have a huge post counts. :2 cents:

Another note re blogs: It seems many people think that blogs are just TGPs with a higher level of prolixity. Some would disagree. Regardless, you should experiment re blog type and traffic sources/blog traffic generation to see which makes the most money for you.

Alex 02-23-2005 07:03 PM

It has nothing to to with X number of posts or an option in your control panel.

I assume you give some sort of erotic story to the surfers, some thing to get them to interact, then you post some free pics/vids and aff link?

Hey alex, that's one model that people use, yes. As for actually making $ off the traffic, you'd have to craft it out yourself. The tools and info are all out there though, you just have to fit the format to maximize your traffic's conversion potential. I'm currently doing an experiment by buying spots on other adult blogs to test my own adult blog network's filtering potential and whether a cross network/model high converting filter is doable. :2 cents: Depending on how it goes, I may publish the results on http://justtraffic.blogspot.com
