Illegal or not?

Somebody is working for a sponsor not to mention there name Anyway the kid is 16. Any legal action on this kind of stuff? I wont rat the kid out it's pretty interesting however. Met him from this board was getting trying to get a referral out of me... well?

BRISK 02-23-2005 03:49 PM

How do you know he's 16?

Harmon 02-23-2005 03:49 PM

Call his Mommy and get him grounded :2 cents:

woj 02-23-2005 03:52 PM

It probably is illegal...

NaughtyAlysha 02-23-2005 03:52 PM

Does the sponsor know?

Kids have no place in this industry... no matter how small a part they may play.

Last vegas show I talked to at very least 7 people who all started when they were 13-15.
We all seem to want to keep children out of our sites. Yet we are super open to allowing anyone to promote them and require nothing at all to show ones age. This will bite us one day.
On another note, many people here who may have been around awhile have also more than likely started when they were underage, and I do hate hypocracy.

What about the social security # during TAX time?.. I know he was 16 because he told me and I know him from AOL awhile back. YTC/pteam? probably knows him, anyway he makes a good bit. Maybe more then alot of you who say they got no business in the industry.. He does have a H2 and I believe he said he turned 16 in july..

Chris 02-23-2005 04:03 PM

is he a soul cash rep ?

make sure he really works for the company and not just some ref whore

After Shock Media 02-23-2005 04:05 PM

By the way yes it would be considered illegal.
Not knowing the age of others is pretty stupid in this business where we do not see each other often if ever. Try enforcing a design contract when they flake, and you find out they are under 18 voiding the contract, and that you supplied adult material to a minor.

bly 02-23-2005 04:05 PM

No, not a soulcash rep. The place he advertises for is a real big time sponsor.

V_RocKs 02-23-2005 04:21 PM

The sponsors owner or hiring officer can be charged with lude conduct.

Michaelious 02-23-2005 04:23 PM

It'll be illegal then

tungsten 02-23-2005 04:24 PM

thats fucked up man

spideriux 02-23-2005 04:24 PM

It's illegal !

The Sultan Of Smut 02-23-2005 04:45 PM

Can you sell a porno mag to a 16 yo at a 7-11 in your state (or the state where the kid is employed)? If not then you've got your answer.

Xplicit 02-23-2005 04:56 PM

Spill the beans, who is it?

squizzel 02-23-2005 05:01 PM

im barely 18 and i started learning about sites when i was about 16 and opened up my first site barely after i was 18. IMO its wrong but lets be frank. how many 16-17 yr old boys click exit on a freesite because the have to be 18 to enter. Whos the guy ? how much cash does he make ?

MandyBlake 02-23-2005 05:08 PM

that needs to be taken care of asap

goBigtime 02-23-2005 05:08 PM

I'd be curious to know if the following procedure would hurt or help your business more (as a program operator):

What if you were to require current ID to be uploaded or faxed and/OR maybe just a phone call to an automated authentication system in order to approve someone for your program?

On one hand you'll probably lose a lot of webmasters (unless this was an industry wide standard), on the other you'll probably have a VERY LOW amount of fraud from webmasters.

Either way... just like with everything else, if you are not proactive in regulating things on your own, eventually they'll come and regulate things for you - on their terms.

sweetcuties 02-23-2005 05:14 PM

I doubt if the name will be dropped because things are overlooked in this biz if you're cool and making cash... good old boy network. Especially, if it's a major sponsor. Like someone said in a previous post, this will fuck us in the end.
