Tom Snedden just used his last challenge to kick the last potential black juror out of the case. He has now sat a conservative middle-class jury, the most likely to convict on these charges.

So much for a jury of your peers...

Personally i would think having black jurors on the case is something that the defense team wouldnt want under any circumstances.

Wacko has done his best over the last decade or 3 to get away from his black roots and im sure that would play in the minds of any black jurors in this case somewhat.

"peers" doesnt mean your race..thats got nothing to do with jury selection. The 12 people are people from around where he lives. They're basically his neighbors from his community. Nobody is going to be an exact replica of any defendant.. especially not an eccentric superstar with his own bizarre sprawling ranch with kiddie rides, lol.

Ah, earlier in the day I had heard there were none.

3 days was too quick to sit this jury. 10 minutes (strict) with each potential juror with all requests for extentions or in camera meetings denied is going to leave a good appellate issue if there's a conviction.

I would bet that if there was a black defendant from an area that is 80% black and they sat an all-white jury an appellate court would likely agree that they were not served by a jury of their peers.

maybe it should be a jury of idiots that have a private zoo, sleep in an oxygen tent, fondle children, live in a fantasy amusement park, collect human bones and change their skin color?

Yep, Tom Sneddon was instrumental in changing the law. Not only can they now bring in evidence from the 90's case they previously couldn't, they could proceed without the cooperation of the current claimant if they had enough other witnesses they thought could prove the case.

The main reason for these changes was Michael Jackson, so Sneddon jumped at the opportunity to charge him again after that documentary aired where he admitted letting kids sleep in his bed.

Are you white? If so, how would you feel if you were charged with a crime against a black victim and there were no white jury members?

But thats my point. The 12 people ARE his neighbors. Race is not an issue in seating the jury..

Supposedly alot of the jurors have children.. this could get ugly for him..

both the lawyers and the prosecutor choose/question/approve/dismiss the jurors. they are not appointed, they are selected.

if you think that any statement made on the news on behalf of Michael Jackson is not a part of the typical showbusiness leading up to a media circus of a trial for a walking freakshow who diddles kids, you have obviously missed more than a few random statements on TV.
