.org porn domain? I'm about to buy a great one. Yes/No?

I'm in talks with a guy to buy a great .org adult domain name. Im gonna turn it into an adult site. it's a .org name. What are the legal implications of having an adult site on a .org name? Are there any legal issues?

Any search engine implications? or anything else I should be aware of?

.org was intended for non profit organisations, but noone cares about that today

actually when i was a surfer, i thought .org means orgasm :)

anyway, you have to make sure it's realy a great domain, since when the site will become popular, you will lose traffic to the .com extension

speaking about search engines, i cannot help you there, i get maybe 10 uniques daily from them :1orglaugh

I wouldnt spend a shitload on the domain.
As Polish aristocrat said, alot of the traffic is goin to end up at the .com domain..

If it is for a Paysite, then i wouldnt bother.

Good luck.

Rydz.

Sure .com is favourable but I don't worry about having a .org domain; what is in a name anyway. if surfers like your site and start to bookmark it, it doesn't matter what extension your site has.

don't worry about SE restrictions; my .org domain is higher ranked in SE's than it's .com equivalent.

.org domains can be great and se's dont look at the extension much..

just look at pussy.org ;)

triumph 02-23-2005 01:16 PM

what is the domain, maybe we can help you out?

Manansala 02-23-2005 05:01 PM

.org is Organismo as Organism and .com is Mechanismo as Mechanism. .net is something else.

I need not say more.

Whatever name it is, as long as it has decent traffic and good stuff, we're all good. :thumbsup

When i had my tgp, the owner of the .com wanted 15k for the domain . he told me he was getting 2 to 5k typeins daily ... that's a lot of traffic just for typeins

Doctor Dre 02-23-2005 06:58 PM
