Whens the next google PR update

I've added about 150 new backlinks to my site all on other PR 3-6 pages.

I should see a nice increase hopefully.

Right because:

This tool will query Google's various data centers to check for any changes in PageRank values for a given URL. Usually all data centers will output the same, but if queried during an update, you might get a glimpse of any upcoming changes in your chosen URL's PageRank value.

Pete-KT 02-21-2005 10:58 PM

just watch, its the rate at which the backlinks are obtained that determines whether you get put in the sandbox..

i could be wrong, and good luck :)

if google updates quarterly (which many think it now does) next update will be in late march or early april, but you never know :)

Im pretty sure you are sandboxed as a new site that obtains a bunch of new links and etc.

This is has been up since jan-2003. Thats when i had the domain. I just started taking a lot of interest in it and adding links. :winkwink:

I do have some new sites that i fear might be sandboxed. But not this.

TheMob 02-21-2005 11:31 PM

anyone else thinking that if they understood the stuff that is being talked about in this thread, they would crack the meaning of life, the universe and everything?

V_RocKs 02-22-2005 12:07 AM

Bookmark, wait for March and see what happens... Who will have PR? Who will be relegated to the sandbox and will Google scrap the current sandbox do to the compaints from large pocketed partners?

there has been talk that this is not only for new sites, but that Google uses an average of time and quantity it takes other sites in your category to obtain natural links and if you go over this they will put the new links in a sandbox and thus they will not count for your PR / link popularity yet.

Of course it's not certain that this is true but it is a logical step at this time when purchasing oneway links and doing massive link exchanges is getting more and more common

So how does google expect you to launch new sites with new domains.

BS.

This sites is 2+ years always had some PR and backlinks.

First off all Google doesn't care about your sites, they only care about providing high quality search results.

Secondly, if the link building represents a natural process (like other sites in that category have experienced) you will be fine, but if you start adding 200 link exchanges/oneways Google will see that you're trying to influence the SERPs.

If your domain is 2+ years old you should be fine, just remember that quantity is not what Google likes, it's quality.

From what I know, this is just a rumor.

What about legit sites that just out of popularity, are linked by hundreds? Usually, new online web campaigns launched by companies like Nike, etc.

Google likes quantity AND quality. I've seen so many junk websites with auto-generated internal pages that rank high (with hardly any backlinks).
