Anyway to run a dual monitor setup with a laptop

I want to run another dual monitor setup using one of my laptops, anyway to do this? In other words, have half the display on the laptop and the rest on an external monitor?

as long as your video card in your laptop supports dual monitor it's no problem.... I'm running a dual monitor on my dell laptop as I type this..... just connect the second monitor on the back of the laptop.... have the laptop screen as your primary display and the crt or lcd as your secondary display and thats it

Yeah, for some reason I don't have that option showing up in Control Panel. I guess I'll hunt for some drivers or something.

Ah, I think this driver might have done the trick. Thanks for the responses. :thumbsup

right click on your desktop and select properties

select settings

select monitor 1 and identify to make sure you laptop screen is primary

select monitor 2 and check off the box that says "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor

then you can left click on the pic of one of the monitors to drag and match the physical location of the monitors....

eg laptop screen to the right of the crt/lcd

:)

Yep buy a laptop like the Dell XPS or something with 2 ports a DVI & normal monitor plug on the back. Then you plug in both monitors and you can easily run 2 monitors. Without 2 plus at the back your shit out of luck I believe
