Anyone here using 10000RPM SATA hard drives?

Can you tell me if there is a significant performance increase from a 7200 RPM drive?

i've got 2 mirrored in this machine

the performance is subtle but noticeable

Talking about the WD Raptor? Around 40-60% faster than a 7200rpm drive.

I'm running a WD Raptor.. I always thought WD sucked but they offer a 5 year warranty on these so I took the chance. It does make some noise every so often so I don't really trust the drive, but it's working fine right now.

I got 15K SCSI RAID, thought I should let you guys know.

They are great drives, SATA Drives have come a long way, but i still prefer SCSI.

just think about 10000RPM long enough.. pretty amazing.

I've got two SATA hard drives, but I think they're 7200RPM

Yes, they're 7200RPM

thanks for the info guys, with the video work that I do, it seems like my HD and memory are my 2 bottlenecks. The raptors look good, seek time and latency are about half of most 7200 RPM drives, but I havent heard of anyone using them until today.
