Anyone from Brazil?
 

My partner and I are looking into some property off shore. I was wondering if there is any webmasters from Brazil that can answer my questions?

1. is there broad band? In hotels? Residential, commercial?

2. Is there any data centers were I can colocate a server?

3. Any thing we should watch out for?

4. We are planning a trip to Brazil this summer?

5. What sights should we see?

Just a few hotels have broadband access. You can get ADSL/Cable/Radio "broadband" (usually 256kbps) in most of the residential and commercial buildings in good areas.

Yes, there are some pretty good data centers in Brazil but I think they're expensive. At least they were expensive a few years ago.

"Summer" as in June/July? It would be Winter here. That doesn't mean it's cold in all the cities. It would be hot here in the northeast.

Do you like beaches, montains, big cities, small cities... ?

Well we would like a good area were we feel secure with our equipment. Also be able to have a good time when we are down there. Whats it like for americans to buy property...run business. We are looking for aplace we could spend 3 or 4 months out of the year. I have family in Venasuela but with the political climate I would like to stay out of that country.
