How much would you pay for your own version of ABOUT.COM
ie., a very content heavy website that tackles thousands upon thousands of topics? Big money maker using direct ads and also Google Ad Sense?
|
More background:
About.com, which offers expert advice on topics ranging from personal finance and home repair to consumer electronics and geography, reaches an audience of 22 million unique visitors each month. The Times Co.'s websites, on the other hand, are visited by 13 million users a month Bought for $410M |
thinking of starting one? if so... you're 7 years late :winkwink:
|
$200? These huge CMS's are all over the place.

It only takes one penny in a jar to be on your way to a million dollars.
|
Id spend around 10 bucks, hahaha
|
crazy they have such a big adience .. when i see the about.com logo i mostly all the time close the window immidiatly
but to stay on topic .. since its a huge money maker.. more then i can afford.. and for the guy saying youre 7 yr's to late... i think is kind of right.. atleast if you are going to make another about.com clone;. maybe it would be something nice if you have the content people are really looking for instead of what some prehistoric search function found :upsidedow |

Even if you (tried) copy all the content from their sites you wouldn't be able to do it |
I just typed in www.about.com in my browser for the 1st time in my life, never heard of them before.
