There ought to be limits to freedom.

I should be free to slander whomever I want.

I should be free to drive off in someone else's car and sell it for cash at a street corner to pay my rent.

I should be free to force women to have sex with me and if they mouth off about it, I should be free to cut their throats.

I should be free to break someone's window it I don't like the glare in throws into my living room.

Is this what you mean, Rich?

Kimmykim 02-18-2005 01:39 PM

Moreover, I am demonstrating the point of Bush's statement. Not only ought there to be limits to freedom, there in fact are limits to freedom.

Just put --

"The problem with democracy is that everyone has a say" -- WJC

in your sig and be done with it.

How about this Bush quote wiseass?

If this was a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as
I'm the dictator

That's being generous.

Let the kids have their fun though, I'm glad FunforOne, Pathfinder, and this "workshop willy" character found eachother. They can pat eachother on the ass and think they're somehow one upping me all day, no sweat off my sac. Anyone with a grade 10 education realizes this is a fucking clown parade.

FunForOne 03-03-2005 04:16 PM

Anyone notice the reoccuring theme that I mentioned in the other thread.

When liberals are beat, they claim intellectual superiority.

As soon as one of you ass pirates "beats" ANYONE on this board I'll let you know. The three of you haven't made a valid point between you, which is why no one outside your little group responds to you with anything other than "huh" and "what a stupid thread".

Sometimes, and this isn't very often, but sometimes someone comes along and makes it a Richer experience.

This being another stupid quote from someone who supposedly is the leader of the free world :-)

The thread is beneath much comment - who ever claimed this?

oh no, I'm wrong, everyone agrees with you and is rushing to join in on bashing me, the "ignorant liberal democrat". It's not just three ass clowns who don't even work in this industry jacking eachother off, what was I thinking?

Idiots like you elected Bush, if any of his voters knew how to read it would have been a different story.

See Rich, it's an attitude like this that gets you into trouble. We're very willing to listen to arguments and discuss them like reasonable people. It's the insulting tone you always seem to use -- it makes you come off as arrogant and small.

Try having a debate without the tone, and you'll find that both sides will be able to see each other's point of view.

Don't call me an idiot, idiot.

Standard MO for clowns like these.

pornguy 03-03-2005 05:05 PM

There always will be and have been limits to freedom. They are called laws. It is way too bad, that the laws only apply to the people that DONT have the power to change them. And dont think for a second that you do have that power.

No intelligent business person could vote democrat. At least any that could read.

That's the stupidest thing you've said yet, and that's saying a lot. Many very successful people are liberal, Bill Gates for example, George Soros is another. The name Ted Turner also comes to mind. Israel Asper made a dime here and there. There are countless others.

I know on TV they make it seem like republicans are the party for businessman, but that's make believe. Only two bit jackasses who make a little money but spend way more than they can really afford have to be republicans, because they can't afford the lifestyle they want to have if they have to pay taxes and help others. Believe it or not, there are a few rich people in Europe and Canada. I hear there are also a couple in NY and LA.

Most real businessmen would rather have a stable economy than tax cuts and trillion dollar depts.

Truly successful people don't have to fear paying their fair share of taxes, because they don't live above their means. If you ever achieve true financial independence you may understand what I'm talking about, but for now I assume you'll call me an idiot and quote Denis Miller. After all, he's a very "intelligent businessman".

Rich 03-03-2005 07:14 PM

Has it never occurred to you that all the rich states voted Democrat and all the poor slave states voted for Bush? Who are all these republican businessmen, trailer park owners? I know facts don't mean much to you but one day I know you're going to be able to put a couple together and come to a conclusion on your own. I have faith in you, it will happen eventually.

Probably not today. :(

FunForOne 03-03-2005 07:37 PM

So, lets get the right.

The democrats are the party of:

1) Minorities
2) The poor
3) Business Owners
4) Government employees
5) Homosexuals
6) College age kids
7) Rich State People
8) Senior Citizens
9) Women
10) non- religious people

Damn, who in the hell ever voted republican.
Here is your profile:

White
Heterosexual
Religous
Southern
between the ages of 30 and 55
non business owners
not poor
not government employees

I didn't see 53 million at that last meeting, maybe you have been misled.

If you knew anything, you would know that the southern states are predominately registered democrats. Or at least they were.

Who was the last elected democrat president from above the mason dixon line? What year was that?

Fuck, according to you, democrats are everywhere and do no wrong. Do you realize that democrats will never win another election. Do you realize their positions in the senate and house are shrinking.

Deomcrats core position on big government and higher taxes have alienated the business community for a long time.

What a fucking idiot. Business people dont vote democrat. Third graders in San Francisco know better than that.

I know a great number of successful business people who vote democrat, and chances are so do you. You don't do your points any service by being hyperbolic. Accept that rich people can be democrats and move on. If you don't understand the reasons why, there's an excellent chance you never will.

As for 'democrats never winning another election', if you actually gave a rats ass that should scare the fuck out of you, and anyone else who legitmately fears falling from a democracy into a one-party state that merely runs elections as a dog-and-pony show. :2 cents:

I'll respond anyway.

I know the reasons why. I am positive that you dont.

I'll give you a hint, it involves the concept of "old money".

Are you idiots to blind to see the split happening in the deomcratic party. Some are moving further left. Others are trying like hell to become conservative democrats. (hillary)

The elections from now on will be contests between different levels of conservatives. The biggest problem facing the nation now is trying to determine the liberals hiding as conservatives to get elected.

Any rhetoric talking points from a liberal party from now on are just for entertainment purposes only. None will ever be taken seriously in any national election campaign. This thread is a good example. Its funny. You idiots entertain me. It makes me feel good and confirms the decisions our country has made.

An no, I"m not sure which organization told you, but american business votes republican for reasons that are obvious to everyone except the war for oil die hard liberals on gfy.

So it's going to turn into a conflict between the right, the even more right, and the even more farther right? Sounds to me like a one-party system where elections are nothing more than internescene battles around particular implementations, with a dollop of McCarthyism to 'smoke out those commies... er... liberals'.

Heh, well, if thats what you're after, good luck to ya... in the immortal words of Art Baker: "Remember Folks... You Asked For It!" :winkwink:
