should i be worried about my motorcycle being stolen?

i'm gonna get a bike this summer but i don't have a garage and was wondering if they're easy to steal for a crackhead.

my neighborhood isn't bad but around here the crackheads go into the good 'hoods' to steal the good shit so what are my options to protect it? or do i not even need to worry about it?

thanks gfy.

Yes. I once had a GSXR1100 for about a month before someone stole it off my front porch.

Probably saved my life, though.

Yes they are very easy to steal even if you put a wheel lock on it they lift them up and put them in a truck.

damn. i know it was wishful thinking but i really hoped they didn't bother with bikes but i guess it's probably pretty common. i'm going to call my ins. co. and see if they have any statistics about bike vs. car thefts.

Lock it up good! I ride dirtbikes and lock my shit up, even in the back of my truck..

People suck. They will steal anything!

Let me know the exact address where you park it! I'll let you know! :winkwink:

I used a fork lock on my Harley - big old MasterLock that kept the wheel as far over as it could go, so until you cut that bad boy off, your only option was to get a couple of friends and carry the bike off. Crackheads will find an easier option. Also, park your bike next to the dog house: he might piss on it now and again, but if you have a proper ball-biting hound, it will keep most folks away. When the dog starts barking all crazy like, grab your shotgun and go take care of business...

I know someone who had a couple of bicycles chained to a pole in the front of their house. During the middle of the day someone ripped the pole out of the group and stole them :1orglaugh

Invest in a new home with a garage? Then get a bike?

Might work :)

Der Schleicher 02-18-2005 09:44 AM

how about investing in a state of the art alarm protection system?

I know in Orlando Talking to OPD (orlando police) Bikes are taken with 2 2x4's and a truck and 4 guys within 30 mins the bike is chopped and already being sold.

Even bikes that are locked up they take.
