I am not an expert on Yahoo, but from what I have read on the search engine forums, Yahoo can be picky about javascript and things like that. I would highly recommend reading:

They are the best source for information on many search engines - I assume they are pretty good on Yahoo too.

Since this thread is 7 months old I thought I'd see what the current opinions are.

I'm considering shelling out the $600 to have my site added.

Will it be worth it?

The cost is $600 per year, not $600 for a permanent listing. Remember that when deciding on whether it's worth it.
