Stealing using Limewire- Wrong?
Hello,
I want to ask a It's a moral, hyperthetical and legal question. My question concerns p2p programs, specifically limewire. I know from experience that it is possible to find out many details about people using the search on Limewire. Its a sad fact but lots of people still share their entire hard drive, this includes many sensitive files including: website passwords Credit card numbers Email login details Bank codes and account numbers. With a little bit of searching its possible to find vast amounts of information about a person, including all of the above but also things like mothers maiden name or favorite pets name. Ok, my question is not whether it's illegal to use this information, of course it is but whether it is illegal or morally wrong to sell this information. For example on Ebay or to the highest bidder. If I "hyperthetically" collected this information and then sold it, would this be wrong? Some facts to consider.. I am using a wildly available piece of software (which may or may not be illegal). I am simply searching for a search term and downloading it to my hard drive - Is this wrong? I am not using the information myself (although it is for commercial gain). I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. |
Yes it would be terribly wrong, and you know that deep down or you would not have posted.
My opinion. |

I know that is is wrong, that is why I said hyperthetical.
I just wondered if from a legal point of view is it wrong to sell this information, and is it wrong to search for this information in the first place.. |
