what's the best? i just need simple pic galleries added automatically on schedule in the easiest (lazy) way, watermarking, latest update and upcoming updates featured on the tour.

I use sitedepth and it is perfect for what you are looking for. Haven't tried AWW.

WTF is AWW?
I have never heard anything bad about sitedepth.
We have an inhouse kickass programmer, so we have our own custom members area.
