The script I made that runs www.filthyhooker.com
It's actually really good -- and I was thinking of using parts of it to start development on a new product such as Comus.
It's broken down into various things, right now here is what it does. - Generates easily configurable crontab files for automatic updates - Makes approving user submissions quick and painless - Contains a VIP section for honest gallery builders who submit quality stuff - Allows you to search thru all the links by URL, description or type (allows you to use the generic SQL wild-cards as well: %) - Uses MySQL for efficiency - Allows you to create `sibling' TGPs based on main list. - Uses multiple database tables; 1 for the main rotation list, and a second for new user submission queues (as I want all new submissions to get posted before put into the mainlist as there are over 30,000 links). ^^ Those are the features I've designed simply by mastering my own TGPs -- it's what I decided I needed. But what I could do - is actually use parts of the code that I've developed for filthyhooker.com and create something big like Comus.. My idea was to release it all as open source but I've been getting a lot of negative feedback on that.. Maybe I should sell it for money? |
keep building up your script and adding more to it and sell it. That way when people have questions and problems your going to want to give them the support they need because they are paying customers...
