SEO Newbies: Are YOU reading SE's own blogs yet?

I'm pretty sure most SEO experts already regularly read blogs of search engines, i.e: Google Blog, MSN Blog or Yahoo's Blog. They often give you nice updates from inside the company.

Not spectacular things but for example, in late january, Google made a post about how you can defend against blog spammers by using an element in your link tags.

If you're not reading them already and you're interested in SEO, I'd suggest you look into them every once in a while:

Google Blog
MSN Search's Blog
Yahoo! Search Blog

:)

I doubt most SEO gurus read the SE blogs.

Why? Because it's merely a marketing outlet for stale, useless junk. Take for example the Google blog, what can you get out of the first page to apply to any SEO method?

Information is only useless if you can't do anything with it. You always have to read between the lines with these things. Of course, it's not like Google is exposing their latest algorithm every day. But that's besides the point.

Especially MSN's blog is quite interesting. You'll see how XML feeds have become important for most search engines including MSN.

Trax 02-17-2005 05:18 AM

no need to read those blogs
if anything interesting is released there are other kids reading it and posting it on WW or every other seo forum lol.
