Paintball's are much more expensive, which is a down side for many, but I find to be more realistic. Guys with airsoft guns might have 10,000 "bullets" on them, and just random spray. I might fire 1000 paintballs in a day on the field.

Paintballs don't freeze, they have an anti freeze component to them. It's an urban myth. :P

Well of course they don't look real! They shoot paintball's, not bullets!

WarChild is actually a character from Point Break ... It's more widely known as a charitable foundation that benefits children orphaned and displaced by war in their countries.

That's a really good idea. I was just teasing about the "men" playing paintball ... Play whatever looks fun to you. It's all good exercise and it really excites the senses. Nothing better than lurking in a bush, on full alert, hunting another human .. Even if it's just for play :)

Rinaldo 02-16-2005 01:36 PM

I've played both... Paintball for 15 years and Airsoft for 4... I think airsoft has really boomed recently in south Florida the way paintball started to in 94. but with Airsoft you can do it in backyards because they aren't as loud and don' tfuck up the neihbors cars or windows and as mentioned above the cost is much much lower.
I like paintball a littl emore because shit I started playing when it was nothing and I was one of teh first.
I also liked the tournament circuits back then because the game wasn't abotu the rate of Fire but the skill of the team and coordination.
Now paintballs' all about spray and pray and who can afford the fastest shit. If it continues this way I'll go to airsoft and shoot just as fucking fast and pay 1/100 of the cost.

Yeah i hate that nonsense. I bought an auto cocker for the closed bolt action and accuracy, not an electronic gun. I like to play on the fields. Don't play airball/speedball and really have no interest in that.

warlock5 02-16-2005 02:07 PM

Hell yes, been playing airsoft for about 4 years now!

I've only played paintball a few times, airsoft is much more interesting. Depending how you play it, the game can be a lot slower. One thing that makes airsoft so much better is that someone who spends $1000+ on a gun won't be any better than someone who spends $400. The expensive guns don't perform any better, they are just fancier and rarer.

The biggest problem is finding a place to play. Some paintball fields allow airsoft (or play in off-hours) but they just don't match playing in the woods or inside an actual building. Playing in a public area can get you arrested or even shot. These idiot kids who play in their backyards and bring their guns to parks are doing everyone a huge dis-service and even risking a complete US ban on the things.

Even if you don't want to play the game the guns are great for indoor target practice just to let off some steam after a long day of work. You can pick up fully-automatic gas powered guns like the Glock18c or Mac-11. These things are exact replicas down to the trademarks. You can also buy an electic powered assault rifle. If you want to shoot 300+ BBs at full auto all at once this is the way to go. Even more exciting when you are shooting at an actual person :1orglaugh (wearing the proper safety equipment of course)

If you want to learn more about airsoft or check out some of the cool guns you can buy take a look at these great websites:

Airsoft Gun Help
Airsoft Extreme (online store)
Arnie's Airsoft

Airsoft is AWESOME!!! :thumbsup

chronic avenger 02-16-2005 03:38 PM

yeah the guys here at work are building a team so I'll me on my fist mission soon -lol

warlock5 02-16-2005 04:26 PM

Cool, I've been with my team the entire time I've been playing. Its fun until you get some idiot who swears he saw the BBs hit you from 500 feet away.

Which is the only downside to the game. Unlike paintpall there are no marks. Dishonest players can cause a lot of problems.

american pervert 02-16-2005 04:53 PM

I got the mac-11, I play the version where I tell my neighbors to come out on their patios for a surprise and I shoot them, it never gets old
