Duplicating mini DV tapes, how?

I have a bunch of mini DV tapes which i need to make *one* back up copy of each tape. I know i can import the footage from the originals into Premiere and then export them back onto a fresh DV tape but that is too time consuming. Whats the easiest and quickest way of duplicating each tape?
Would buying a second camcorder work if i linked both camcorders via firewire and then played the tape on the 1st camcorder whilst recording on the second camcorder?

no prob - do a test run, i remember having to tinker for 15 minutes before getting it setup right, i think i had to switch the one i was playing on to the one i was recording on ... god knows why, but in the end two cams and firewire worked, realtime. i think it was an xm2 (pal gl2) into a vx2000 (pal .. gotta be same standard cam i think)
