if i change a motherboard and a cpu do I have to reformat my system drive ?

Be sure to back everything up. It can cause alot of problems sometimes. Other timse it goes perfectly smooth.

Seriously though... If you're on any version of Windows, just keep your operating system installation disk handy,as Windows may need to install new drivers. (Not likely if it's only the board and CPU you're changing out, but possible).
