Got my hijacked domain back. Wanted to thank DirectNic for their help.

As some of you may know, I had a domain hijacked from me about 2 weeks ago. Some bastards used a spyware/keylogger to steal my directnic login info. They then changed accounts email address and transferred the domain.

Speacial thanks go to Donny Simonton, DirectNic's technical manager. He was extremely helpful in resolving this situation.

Enom.com (the registrar where my domain had been transferred) was also very cooperative. Big thanks to Joanne Tucker, transfers manager.

My advice: have a good anti-spyware software running at all times on your pc.

That's great news. It is very nice to know these registrars worked together to help out and resolve the situation.

Cheers to you for getting your domain back. :thumbsup

DarkJedi 02-15-2005 12:33 PM

Yeah, I was surprised how cooperative enom.com really was.

Now it's time to switch to a Mac. No spyware! (for now)

some good news!

V_RocKs 02-15-2005 01:28 PM

Hijacking a domain with a tojan/keylogger is very different than defacing a page with a web application exploit.

Trax 02-15-2005 01:30 PM

great news... I know who I will contact when one of my domains will get stolen ;)

BRISK 02-15-2005 01:32 PM

What is some good anti-spyware software?

DutchTeenCash 02-15-2005 02:03 PM

directnic rocks :thumbsup as soon as they expire on gd we move them

Credde 02-15-2005 02:11 PM

I tried the same two years ago, where I had some of my domains hi-jacked. It was also with Directnic, who as in your problem, was very helpful.

tungsten 02-15-2005 02:14 PM

directnic is definitely worth the $15

I currently use Microsoft Anti Spyware.

Like it a lot. It automatically downloads fixes for new exploits.
