Is it just another hallmark holiday for stores to make money or is it a good holiday to have?

*sigh* so many jaded people ;) i think today is the perfect holiday for the adult industry. it's all about love and expressing it. i tend to express mine with sex & i wish more people would put love into their sex and porn play, it's perfect! today is my favorite holiday of the year - modify it a little to fit better for you - if you don't have a partner or other people to express your lusting love for, give it to yourself. maybe a special masturbation day in the bath?

If you are single then it's good reason to get drunk and whine about not having anyone. Or in my case, revel in the fact that you are mega happy and independent (ie: don't have anyone to annoy me). :winkwink:

If you are alone it sucks, of course if you are alone you could always go out and celebrate the fact you are free

I think i would love and appreicate the holiday (and the essence of it) more if i was envolved in a relationship. But today i will hug and kiss my kitty a lil' more and will go see my (also single) mommy!

The fact that Feb 14th has become recognized to show your affection towards your significant other is great, but this should be shown everyday, not just Feb 14th. I also find that Valentine's Day is really over commercialized (people who buy gifts or flowers on today will know what I mean). Also, I find it makes the single people out there more lonely on this day (myself included).

Ventines day is for chicks. I dont really care for it too much. It means i have to take someone out and spend money on a dinner and overpiced flowers.

I hate ALL of these holidays, because it's someone else telling me that I MUST buy something for my loved ones for their own selfish reasons.

If I want to buy my wife flowers, I don't do it because of a date on the calendar. I buy them because I want to show my appreciation or my love for her.

Her birthday, and our anniversary are the two dates I care about. Oh, and Christmas because we have kids. That's pretty much it. No more, no less.

Then again, it is kind of easy for me because she does have the joy of living with me every single day. So really, EVERY day is Valentines's day at our house.
