Hypothetical dialler question
Here's something to think about...
If a dialler company pays its telecoms provider based on billing to the nearest second, and pays its affiliates based on billing to the nearest minute rounded down, how much additional income does it make? Just wondering because I'm doing pretty well with a dialler program (which one is irrelevant) but I noticed all the figures are in whole numbers of minutes. I'm not saying they definitely get billed to the second, but I imagine if they're doing millions of minutes a month they probably have a sharper "sales analysis tool" than the minute, when it comes to paying their provider. I'm not going to call it "shaving" (hey, I said I'm *happy* with the provider) - it's just curiosity... |
The carriers charge the surfer to the nearest minute rounded up, and all dialer networks pay webmasters to the nearest second.
But hey, at least the webmaster and reseller do not have to worry about chargebacks. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif Feel free to email me if you have any more questions. I think I see what you mean here, not positive but I will try and anser it the best I can. We are billed and the calls are counted to within like 2 seconds of the calls termination. We therefore pay our affiliates to that very second that the call is terminated.
Some people do not realize this but those seconds add up when you are looking at so many "minutes" a day that are being made. After awhile I am sure that would equal up to a good sum of money. I can only use our stats as a template because these are the ones I am familiar with. But we track and pay to the very last second. I don't know that I would call it shaving if they are rounding down to the minute, some just don't realize how those seconds can add up. They see a few seconds and just don't realize it. This does not mean they shave, it just simply means that a few seconds aren't such an issue in some cases. To be honest with you, I never thought about seconds until I started this job here, they just never were that important to me. But having done alot of watching and researching, I do see where those seconds can very well mean the difference in a few bucks. I hope this did answer you, if not I tried. But this is kinda what I see you getting at here. ------------------ Decide for your fucking self! ProudMember of Boneprone-4-Life |
