In Pearl harbor roughly 2,400 dead were accounted for, while the following nuke drops killed an estimated 350,000 japanese.
In the attacks of 9/11... some 3,500 (?) were killed, following a dead count of tens of thousands of iraqis alone, the actual civilist casualty count being somewhat fuzzy in that area since the US striked back.

The "following nukes" were the culmination of a bloody four year long war in the Pacific - one in which many tens of thousands of US soldiers died in such places as Okinawa and Iwo Jima.

In addition conventional bombing (fire bombs) killed more that the nukes did.

Ditto! In fact, the bombs we dropped on Japan in WWII SAVED more lives than were potentially lost. We were facing a land invasion against an ememy that would not surrender - alive. That potential invasion would have resulting in MILLIONS lost on both sides. As a result, the bombs were dropped, Japan surrendered = success!

In a few minutes somebody will come by and dispute a particular estimate as to how many lives would have been lost in an invasion of Japan.
