FuckinFired won't happen...
Sorry, it just won't. I just visited the site. Any webmaster worth having won't compete, as it would take too much time/effort away from their business.
I'd say "that's a good idea" but it's really not. It may appeal to the drama queens on this board but they don't make any money. No offense to anyone involved. Just givin' my :2 cents: |
I think BradShaw told Juicy to get out.
|
I don't care WHO is involved, the idea won't take off. They may have a few people interested but definitely not enough to make it a real competition.

Neither do / did I. I still think BradShaw told Juicy to get out. |

There goes my theory -lol. |
It's not even a good idea.
People, just because GFY is your fucking LIFE and you think it's important to everyone else does not mean that it actually IS important to everyone else. Reality TV and Reality adult webmaster competition will NEVER be on the same level. Fucking piss poor idea and a waste of design time. |

He wants guys that are doing 2k with one sponsor, which isn't going to be someone that needs this kind of promotion or likely someone that has the time for it. |

Exactly. |

What would be a better idea is for someone like Bradshaw to run an adult version of "The Apprentice". Newbies could compete to show him who had the most talent. Some of the same competitions that "FuckinFired" wants to have could even be used. Give the newbies certain tasks to complete. The one that wins get a job for XX monthly.
Even then it's really not that good an idea. Who the fuck really cares? |
i wish i had milk to go with my oreos. mmm
|
trust me it will be a big failure......
|
for once I completely agree with donovan 100%
same goes for webmasterboxing, fun idea, but i doubt it will see the light of day |

No one with those minimums is going to take the time out of their day to play. Sorry for pre-judging you. :) |
if they had done something to where semi-newbies with qualified backgrounds could enter, then it might be fun....

I don't get it. |

I'm sure you know that the real Donovan Phillips isn't the same as the one who gets really grumpy and posts here on this board. The idiots here bring out the worst in me. In person I'm very happy-go-lucky and tolerant. This place is just full of people who do nothing and ARE nothing, yet talk like they're something. The last time you and I saw each other in person was at Gary K's house, right? Did I seem like the grumpy Donovan Phillips that posts here? |
I see all your comments and i am of course taking notes, please this is meant literally.
Unfortunately i COULD NOT post the actual qualifications to enter today because we had hit a little bump in the road. So i back burnered it til we had the site edited and were in position to proceed. This is targeted at UNKNOWN but experienced webmasters. Guys who send some sales everyweek. Guys/Gals who are keen to the industry but lack either resources or contacts to go big. Guys like everyone of us here was at one time. I had those qualifications there on the site to only deter sig whores and drama queens from applying for the contest. I posted last night that all applications would of course be reviewed. I appreciate the feedback and attention Donovan. Now i only need to prove you wrong! :thumbsup |

same with brand0n, the brand0n on here is some wierd alter ego of the real one.... |
You said it man. I just didnt want to start a thread on it.
Honestly, I kinda find it insulting that these guys think a serious webmaster would play with their time and money like that. Surely some guys will be up for it, but those are the guys who need the attention. Just my twocents. |
bread and circuses.

The qualifications IMO were pretty ridiculous as they were catered to guys that already have a good foot in this industry. I mean hell I still conceder my self a noob but a little less noobish. I personally meet the 50k site requirement and well over 4k a month in SE in fact I pull more than that per day. However I don't send any one sponsor anywhere close to $2k a month in sales. So that automatically knocks me out of the running. Your best bet would be to pull some part time guys like myself that think they have a clue, but as you put it lack funding, contacts or that are waiting for the right opportunity to go full time. Personally I think you would be better off dropping the requirements and make picks by way of a simple interview, you would probably get better results. I would hope that if this thing happens, that it isn't going to be about guys submitting galleries and the one with the most sales wins. I think it would be more interesting to give the contestants some freedom to work and maybe a bit of funding to see what kind of concepts they could produce. But who knows what is going to happen with all this drama, as it's not looking good at the moment. |
I actually thought it was a kinda cool idea, except to attract the people you would want in the contest, the prize would have to be off the hook... Like $50,000+ to the winner!
|
loll damn right it wont

Care to put a small wager on that? Say...OH...about 20 grand? |
