I dont understand how The hun, pk, al4a, book-mark keep their surfers and traffic up
 

Im just using those as examples of successful sites.
How do those sites keep their bookmark traffic up and growing?

I had a site that had over 10k bookmarked viewers a day and now a few years later im down to 4k a day. But I do basically the same thing as the top sites, just add new links and switch out banners every once in a while.
But the surfers dropped off for me. How do they stick around for the big guys?

Did you update daily with quality content? Those guys update every day with new, fresh stuff. Though sometimes I wonder if they wouldn't be growing better if they put limits on how long their advertisers could promote the same site.

yes and being early in the game helps as well. Moreover, caring for their surfer (as in the case of the Hun) Im sure helped a whole lot in building surfer loyalty and viral references. :2 cents:

Let me put it to you this way, you didn't get into the net back in 96 or 97 when you could have been one of only 10 sites of quality, updated content. So your only choice now is to go the non-bookmarker route and do the shit with skimmed trades. So start cracking.
