Just Bought a Laser Mouse

Wow! Just got the new Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse.

20 times the resolution ability of an optical mouse. More features than the Microsoft mouse. Silky smooth. Laser gives you pinpoint accuracy. The scroll wheel moves more freely also. Better grip design.

Highly recommend this one!!

Only $79.95 at CompUSA. I bought two of them for home and office. :)

sexyclicks 02-12-2005 07:34 PM

I'm hard now

KRL 02-12-2005 07:35 PM

If you do graphics work, this is a must have. The pinpointing sensitivity is frickin amazing.

Now you have to ask yourself the usual question, why doesn't Microsoft have a laser mouse out yet??

All their cash and R&D and they seem to be behind the eight ball so much recently.

LOL, it's got a speed scroll built in for fast up and down scrolling. A nice feature for GFY speed reading.

Microsoft has never innovated or created anything in the history of the company.

I will wait a few weeks, and they will be 49$ and also improved, but the complaints of the first gen.

KRL 02-12-2005 07:50 PM

It also comes with Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries and a nice looing charging stand so you don't have to buy batteries.

You're so right. I'm laughing because Microsoft is so gung-ho to nail software pirates and they're the biggest pirates of all.

how does it feel in your hand after working with it for a while? is it still comfortable?

Took about 10 minutes to get used to the new feel. Its got a more solid feel than my Microsoft mouse. Better grip design.

Don't even notice the charge lights at all.

goBigtime 02-12-2005 08:39 PM

Why are all the cool gadgets always made for right handed people. :(

KRL 02-12-2005 08:39 PM

If you use Firefox, be sure to assign the forward and backward side buttons to "generic buttons" and they work fine. The default setting assigned to FORWARD and BACKWARD only works in IE if you don't adjust that.

The ZOOM middle button is a nice feature also.

I love the bi-directional cruise control. Nice added extra!

TheMob 02-12-2005 08:42 PM

looks good, can you feel the difference in accuracy?

Yes. The enhanced pointing sensitivity is very pronounced.

KRL 02-12-2005 08:59 PM

The laser analyzes 5.8 Megs worth of surface detail per second.

I just picked up this same mouse a week or so ago. I am used to my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, which is optical, but I can't notice a difference in the tracking sensitivity at all. I'm sure it is better on paper, but I can't see any human noticing a difference whatsoever.

emthree 02-12-2005 09:22 PM

me thinks Logitech paid you to start this thread :winkwink: :1orglaugh
But ya now i'm going to have to buy one, when I get my new KB :winkwink:

Kroyrotica 02-12-2005 09:44 PM

Was wondering how these things are. Thanks for the head's up, mate.

uvort 02-12-2005 09:55 PM

That charger is awesome, the only reason I don't like wireless mouses is because they eat up batteries. With the charger tho, I might have to look into that

Sosa 02-12-2005 09:59 PM

that looks pretty nice. I still have the MX700

grannytgp 02-12-2005 11:13 PM

For all the cheap bastards out there such as myself: http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/produc...OTC-pr1c3watch

$63.50 with free FedEx saver shipping.

MrJackMeHoff 02-12-2005 11:15 PM

Ive had two of these for quite some time.. They are finicky with the charging.. Mine always say they are full power till like the last hour and die all at once.. It kinda sucks when that happens.

Dagwolf 02-12-2005 11:18 PM

I've got a ball mouse again :1orglaugh My mother-in-law got it for me for Xmas, I didn't want to tell her it was the wrong kind.

Corona 02-12-2005 11:35 PM

I didn't want a wireless mouse but my friend who works at Best Buy talked me into getting the MX1000. Glad he did because I love it.

v1h 02-12-2005 11:59 PM

Stick it up to your eyeball and leave it there for 17 minutes, you will see Jesus and alot of little yellow spots. It's fun!

spunkmaster 02-13-2005 12:07 AM

Isn't it cool how $79.95 can somethime bring more pleasure then a few thousand in Vegas or a $500 night out :)

airpal 02-13-2005 12:35 AM

I think they innovated DOS into Windows. It all went downhill from there though. Or perhaps I'm just being a nitpick here.

Anyways, congrats on your mouse! It looks sweet! :thumbsup

maddox 02-13-2005 06:57 AM
