Wow! Just got the new Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse.

If you do graphics work, this is a must have. The pinpointing sensitivity is frickin amazing.

Now you have to ask yourself the usual question, why doesn't Microsoft have a laser mouse out yet??

All their cash and R&D and they seem to be behind the eight ball so much recently.

LOL, it's got a speed scroll built in for fast up and down scrolling. A nice feature for GFY speed reading.

I will wait a few weeks, and they will be 49$ and also improved, but the complaints of the first gen.

It also comes with Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries and a nice looing charging stand so you don't have to buy batteries.

You're so right. I'm laughing because Microsoft is so gung-ho to nail software pirates and they're the biggest pirates of all.

how does it feel in your hand after working with it for a while? is it still comfortable?

is that the mouse that has the blinking light on the side? my friend has one and the constant blinking is annoying

Took about 10 minutes to get used to the new feel. Its got a more solid feel than my Microsoft mouse. Better grip design.

Don't even notice the charge lights at all.

Why are all the cool gadgets always made for right handed people. :(

If you use Firefox, be sure to assign the forward and backward side buttons to "generic buttons" and they work fine. The default setting assigned to FORWARD and BACKWARD only works in IE if you don't adjust that.

The ZOOM middle button is a nice feature also.

I love the bi-directional cruise control. Nice added extra!

Yes. The enhanced pointing sensitivity is very pronounced.

The laser analyzes 5.8 Megs worth of surface detail per second.

I just picked up this same mouse a week or so ago. I am used to my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, which is optical, but I can't notice a difference in the tracking sensitivity at all. I'm sure it is better on paper, but I can't see any human noticing a difference whatsoever.

That charger is awesome, the only reason I don't like wireless mouses is because they eat up batteries. With the charger tho, I might have to look into that

Ive had two of these for quite some time.. They are finicky with the charging.. Mine always say they are full power till like the last hour and die all at once.. It kinda sucks when that happens.

I've got a ball mouse again :1orglaugh My mother-in-law got it for me for Xmas, I didn't want to tell her it was the wrong kind.

I didn't want a wireless mouse but my friend who works at Best Buy talked me into getting the MX1000. Glad he did because I love it.

Stick it up to your eyeball and leave it there for 17 minutes, you will see Jesus and alot of little yellow spots. It's fun!

Isn't it cool how $79.95 can somethime bring more pleasure then a few thousand in Vegas or a $500 night out :)

after purchasing both the MX500 (work) and MX510 (home-for gaming) I am logitech mice for life :upsidedow

I just got that mouse a few days ago also, it's extremely comfortable

I think they innovated DOS into Windows. It all went downhill from there though. Or perhaps I'm just being a nitpick here.

I dont trust logitech! Microsoft mices are the best and trust me I tried many mices.
