Damn, weekends SUCK for sales!

Friday through Sunday's sales usually equal the sales I make on Monday. It's ridiculous, there isn't a big difference in traffic!

How are your weekend sales?

tungsten 02-12-2005 05:01 PM

not as good as weekdays thats for sure

MBS Auto 02-12-2005 05:02 PM

I really do not understand. I've seen a lot of stats from other sites, and you're right guys, sales during the weekend are usually low for most of them.
For some odd reason, Friday, especially Saturday (except the 2nd third of the day), Sunday, and Monday, are by far the best days we have. On a Saturday, we can sell in 1/2 day 80% of what we sell on a regular day. Also note that our sales do not jump up, and down, like I've seen on plenty of sites. We have very stable, and predictable sales, mostly due to the fact that we have tons of returning customers. We only had one period with low weekend sales, and that was around Christmas.

I really think we have our own trend, and stats. At least it looks like that.
I'm comparing our stats to more or less 20 other sites, over a couple of years.

It's also odd that 1/3 of our paying customers log into the site everyday.
We're told that 10% is normal, and 20% is almost crazy. We pass 30%.

Just our 2 cents.

Im at 1/3 exactly, too, what does it mean btw?

About the sales, my sales are similar each day per week, traffic is lower on weekends, sales the same, so ratios are better. I dont see any huge drop on some special day.

I know I hate it when I have slow sales and somebody comes in and says what im about to say. Today is awesome. We had our average # of sales toppled by noon. Things havent slowed down yet.
Watch, tommorow will suck for me :(

Thats strange, most of my sales come on the weekend, almost twice as much as weekdays...

slapass 02-12-2005 05:45 PM

Dating does good on weekends. I think my AFF sales go up and some of my other stuff falls off.

V_RocKs 02-12-2005 05:53 PM

Weekends are a slight drop from what I'd expect on Mond, Tue or Fri. But nothing is as bad as a Thursday.

bdld 02-12-2005 05:58 PM

that's strange, saturdays are my best days.

It means that if we have, let's say 30.000 paying customers, everyday more or less 10.000 unique IP / logins access the member's area. That would be, including shared login, and multiple IPs, more or less 14.000 IPs logging in.
These are just sample numbers, not actual ones :-)

Kevsh 02-12-2005 06:11 PM

This weekend has been brutal, starting Thurs. night .. sad thing is, traffic is up across the board .... :helpme

I understand the numbers game, I was just curious, what does it mean to have 10% members logged in per day or 30% logged in. If they like the members area more(30%), etc...:)

Apparently 10% is normal, 20% mean they love your site, 30% is SUPER.
That's what I'm told by someone that has been doing this since 1995
