The really incredible thing is that I was in this industry in 1995/6/7 and - I guess my memory must be slipping - gee whiz, I just don't remember all these programs. We're very lucky to have so many wonderful programs that have been around for so long, even if we'd never heard of them until last month.

ya, there sure are a lot of programs that I can't remember being around when I started in 97. I find it hard to believe that they've been paying since 95/96/97 and as you said, we hear about them only this year or last year. In most cases these sponsors say that to instill trust. What they fail to realize is theyare 1. treating us like we are dumb and don't know shit and 2. making themselves look untrustable. Also, do Whois on the domain of these places and it will, in most cases, say "Register august 1, 2004" for example. Hmmm, so you've been paying on time since 1995 yet your program went up in 2004? Damn, that's impressive lol

Some are more blatant than others. The standard excuse, of course, is that they really HAVE been paying webmasters on time since 327 B.C. but they just recently changed their program name. Because all popular and reputable programs randomly change their names and web addresses every once in a while.

Every time you see a program making these claims:
                        A) Ask yourself, "Have I ever heard of these people?"
                        B) Visit http://web.archive.org and http://www.whois.sc/sponsordomain.com

Proudly paying webmasters for the last 45 seconds.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
