Going to Italy in March, Where do you recommend me to visit?

Going to all the places like

Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome

Anyone been there before and got any ideas?

Going with couple friends backpacking around.

I will be also in Spain and a few other countries but my friend knows them good. :thumbsup

Rome is excelent if you like history and monuments. Pisa and Florence (Firenze) are ok two for monuments. Never been in Venice but I guess it is a must. Milan is the town I saw more street hookers per square feet :)

About Spain: If you plan to visit cities I recommend Madrid, Sevilla and Barcelona. If you want to go to the beach I recommend Benidorm or the Balear Islands (Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza). Cool day at the beach, wild night.

Enjoy your trip :)

Of course Rome (coliseum )

When you get to Venice, rip up any maps that you might be carrying and just go get lost in Venice.

Seriously. It's great. It's like a maze. You'll be lost for hours in the little streets.

Pisa is a massive tourist trap.

I loved Florence. Didn't spend much time in Milan. Milan is very industrial. Florence is great if you love art and architecture

Venice, Florence and Rome are a must. Milano is the fashion capital so it's a must for a metrosexual like you. Napoli should also be on your list of cities to visit in Italy.

I'm heading to Italy too, at the end of August. Going to fly to Paris and check it out for a couple of days, take a train to Nice, hang out in southern France for awhile, then head to Italy, and walk along the west coast down to Rome. From there I'm going to take a boat over to Sardina and explore. Sardina is supposed to be awesome. From there, over to Sicily (Palermo and Syracuse, etc). Then head along the east coast up to Florence, then walk along the coast to Venice. at least that's the initial plan ;)

visiting places like a tourist SUCKS

you dont get a REAL impression of what a peticular place is like if you stay there for like two days and move on

BUT afterwards you will pretend you are an EXPERT on europe and italy and all that shit while you have NO IDEA what it is REALLY like

if you want to know what life is like in European cities , pick one city that interests you and stay there for like 18 months minimum , that way you would know what it is like

you wont be no expert but you would have an idea what life in that city is like and what it is all about

if you go somewhere for like two days or so and then move on to the next city you could just as well buy a photobook and just look at the pics, you would know just about as much about a city that way

I went over to Rome for a weekend in July, be sure to go to the Colisseum and GO INSIDE, don't just take pictures from outside, the inside is amazing. I almost didn't go inside, but I am glad I did. Also take a tour group, they'll take you to all the cool spots and tell you history and stuff. Go to the old Senate, the tour I went on went there, the Colisseum and some religious place where they only open the door every 25 years or something. Definately take more than a couple days in Rome to see everything. Also don't forget the Spanish Steps and The Vatican.

Go into a grocery store and buy some Nestle Crunch cereal, fucking good. Also keep in mind that the pizza sucks but the pasta and breakfast desserts are incredible.
