Chris Malais 02-12-2005 08:27 AM

welcome to the past !

Manowar 02-12-2005 08:39 AM

thats pretty damn cruel

pxxx 02-12-2005 08:40 AM

That is so damn messed up.

StuartD 02-12-2005 08:47 AM

Man, that's just nasty... sure, it's just a mouse, but think of the terror and pain and suffering it's going through. Someone people find it funny, but those are the people that have real issues. There's just something that's not quite right with them.

FredIsMe 02-12-2005 08:50 AM

I would like to pay the fuck who decided to video tape it a visit.

(Gk) 02-12-2005 08:53 AM

the act of thowing a live rat in the aquarium and videotaping it was indeed cruel. :(

this video is old, so old indeed that most of you newbs don't even remember that it was done by a GFY member who posted it here about... 2 years ago? Maybe 3... not sure. The bg music used to be different.

Nonetheless, you people need to stop crying. The cows that you munch in your daily burger don't get a much better treatment. Piranhas are just a little higher in the food chain and happen to be carnivores.

What if they were doing a study on the reaction of the lateral line in fish and how they react as a team to movement in the water and how instinctively, they gather and feed as a way to keep the school or "cell" alive?

Circle of life man. You people are too damn sheltered. I would much rather see this than some dudes burning a cat for fun. Atleast this kind of stuff is somewhat educational.

I made a search, and there was another video posted on GFY, and it was 1 year ago

YES! Brilliant, you are right, that video was even crueler!

good find.

DomBuyer 02-12-2005 09:09 AM

And this, ladies and gents, is why I am a vegetarian. When I eat the tofu, I don't hear it scream.

Cruel indeed.

MichaelP 02-12-2005 09:14 AM

This is so bad....

(Gk) 02-12-2005 09:16 AM

I didn't say that piranhas eating rats was a cruel thing... and I already watched videos of piranhas eating a fucking cow alive in the amazon forest. So, it really has nothing to do with the "feeding" fact. I just doubt that this video was made to do any good to science whatsoever. So, yes.. it was cruel IMO.

If you own a pet snake and you feed it with live rats, it's not cruel. If you throw a rat and record it to show your buddies how cool it is, that's cruel.

If you're walking in the jungle and a gigantic anaconda eat you down, it's ok... your fault. If you feed them with chinese babes and video tape it, it's wrong.

Right?

Anyway, it's just my way of thinking. Enough of this crap :winkwink:

Just as a side note: So it's the video camera that makes it cruel? The live rats fed to the snake are much more comfy if they know the tape isn't rolling?

Now I understand what you mean. :winkwink:

tony286 02-12-2005 09:20 AM

I felt bad for the mouse , he kept up a good fight for awhile.

So then why not use on of their HANDS then. Oh wait that might HURT. HUGE difference between the WILD and a fish tank. You can go to the store and buy some hambruger to feed your pirhana with. By the way owning pirhana is ILLEGAL in the US I believe.

Exactly, bro. It's a sentient being. It feels pain.

It looked like the mouse was talking shit to the piranhas though? So I can't blame them they had to take him out.

Just kidding, that is some fucked up shit, Stuff magazine had a pic of a hippo being eaten by lions and that was sad too, the hippo was crying. BUT that was nature, this was some dumbass with a camera trying to be cool

jeffrey 02-13-2005 06:14 PM

How is it cruel?
Would it be better for the piranha to just die? sure dead is better then live.. but do you think that in the wild all they eat is dead?

I have a Ball Python, and feed it live mice. Is that cruel too? He will eat frozen ones, but it takes a long time and usually only one instead of the two live that he will eat pretty quick.

Penthouse Tony 02-13-2005 06:23 PM

Some plants can cause even slower and more painful deaths. A sundew will catch a fly or other small bugs in its sticky tentacles. As the bug struggles it usually touches more sticky tips on the tentacles and becomes even more entangled.

The same sticky solution will then begin to digest the bug over the course of days to weeks. The lucky bugs are the ones that get their breathing holes (usually found on their abdomens) covered in the goo and die early.

It's the same stuff that God is doing to us humans, ladies and gentleman.

ADL Colin 02-14-2005 04:06 AM

People feed mice to their snakes. Why not to their fish?
