How do you know your sponsor doesn't shave, cheat, steal from you?

How do you know your sponsor doesn't shave, cheat, steal from you? I understand that if they have been a good friend of yours for a long time and you have built up a trust with them, you probably don't really worry about this much.

But, if you just find an affiliate program in someone's sig, or through a SE, or a resource somewhere... How do you know that you aren't being cheated? Blind trust? Do you even care if they do or not? We are all creatures of habit. It's easy to spot a shaver / cheater if it is inconsistent, however, if you have been cheated since day one, how do you know when it's happening?

A few dollars from every affiliate here and there isn't going to really be missed or noticed. Neither is a consistent shave, say something like every 10th join gets "absorbed" by the system.

I'm curious what you have to say about this.

I hack my sponsors servers to see what they have set their settings as.

I am afraid in that case you won't really notice the shave.

I've seen mongoloids come up with a better sig than yours too. It's there for information not your viewing pleasure. :321GFY

MongoloidDesign.com

Anyway, there's no way to know for sure if a sponsor isnt shaving unless of course you have access to their stats system. I do believe NATS and affiliate programs that use it to be trustworthy. That being said if someone is determined enough to rip their webmasters off they will get caught and hopefully get fucked over for it.

Zester 02-12-2005 04:39 AM

very easy:
they ALWAYS ALWAYS shave
all of them
some just lie better than others

Jesus tells me which sponsors to promote and which ones to avoid. Thank you Jesus.

StuartD 02-12-2005 06:21 AM

well, if you had to choose between www.nichepay.com and www.shavebucks.com, I'd think the choice would be obvious.

calmlikeabomb 02-12-2005 06:32 AM

Hi,

Sponsors can not shave me. It is impossible.

They shave and we all will know. I'll let you all in once I am ready.
