so, for all you smokers lemme tell u

yes, my clothes smell alot better, yes my breath smells alot better, ive saved atleast 3 bucks a day, and i can taste all kinda stuff that i never knew tasted the way it does. (thats good and bad lol)

axelcat 02-11-2005 04:28 PM

good job Ive been clean for well over 5 months now

TheMob 02-11-2005 04:29 PM

that's lovely. thanks for sharing, brand0n.

who's up next?

Harmon 02-11-2005 04:30 PM

Wow. Congrats!! :thumbsup i have been pondering quitting myself lately.

As for the taste thing, tell me if there is any validity to this: My sister LOVED Mountain Dew... a junky. She said when she quit she tried some, and it tasted like ass. She missed it, even though it tasted like ass... to the point that she almost wanted to start smoking again to get the taste back. Is that possible?

Scott McD 02-11-2005 04:32 PM

This might be a dumbass question, but why do most people put on alot of weight when they stop smoking ??

nice, good job

Antonio 02-11-2005 04:34 PM

I gained some weight too after I stopped smoking. Smoking 'kills' your apetite, plus the first week or two you have to keep your hands and mouth busy to supress the cravings, therefore you eat more ;)

From what I've heard, is due to the cravings. Whenever a person, who is trying to quit, wants a smoke, they generally tend to have a bite to eat.! :2 cents:

sonofsam 02-11-2005 04:37 PM

well over 7 months now for me

smoking is considered an oral fixation. you replace one thing with another. since your taste buds become more aware, food is a viable option.

mortenb 02-11-2005 04:38 PM

Congrats man.. I've been wanting to quit for a long time, but I don't have the willpower to take the added stress.. and I like my cigs while I work..

brand0n 02-11-2005 04:38 PM

yea. when i 1st stopped smoking id have to munch on mad shit to stop me from wanting a cig.

then there is the fiddling with stuff. you get so used to holding a smoke, i replaced that smoke with a twix bar lol. i could lie and say i grubbed on carrots n shit, but thats not the fact

and YES it dont shock me at all your sister dont like mt dew any longer. belive it or not, cheese tastes all kinda fucked up now. and im an extra cheese kinda guy

Scott McD 02-11-2005 04:40 PM

So it's just because you tend to eat more and that's it ??

Wow !

I'm gonna phone a bitch who's been moaning for ages and tell her to stop fucking eating shit then. She had me convinced it was just something that happened...

also... quitting smoking slows down one's metabolism. I quit after Internext and have gained weight too, despite extra exercise and tons of water... IT SUCKS!

Bravo brand0n. :upsidedow

sweetME 02-11-2005 04:45 PM

Good for you :thumbsup Although, 40 lbs is NOT "little weight" to gain, but it's still better than smoking. Good job :winkwink:

People with find an excuse for everything. You really think shes going to go back to smoking just because soda tastes better when she smokes?

Give me a fucking break. Smoking is an addiction, and she's full of excuses.

Morgan 02-11-2005 05:05 PM

I quit just over a month ago, was much easier than i anticipated.

smoking puts stress on the body which raises metabolism. Also people used to doing something with their hands and mouth (smoking) may eat instead.

thefool 02-11-2005 05:20 PM

my sister quit yesterday, and the past 40 hrs have been SOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!! lol i'm going thru PMS and she's going thru withdrawl, we're both fighting over the candy, and I hate skittles! lol
