Bit Torrent annoys me sometimes

I don't get how I try to get a file... it downloads at 2kb for an hour until I have a meg or 2... and it starts uploading at 34kb.

Is there really that many people grabbing that 1 meg from my computer to generate that much speed... and are they getting a better download speed than I am?

I'm not sure what you mean by "on your level" to be honest. I'm just trying to grab a television episode that was on last night. I've found that kazaa sucks pretty hard for that sort of thing.
It's even worse for music or videos in general, as you tend to get stuff that is totally not related to the file name.... like, if you try to get "The Grudge" thinking you'll get the movie, it turns out to be an episode of Little House on the Prairie or something.

Kazaa is horrible.

When you use bittorrent it takes alot of different things to configure it for optimal use.
Search google for 'bittorrent faster' or something.
To get a good d/l speed i did:
1) change port range in bittorrent software (ABC in my case)
2) port forward the range of ports u changed in step 1 on you router site
3) limit upload speed to like 20 kb/s

check this site for details: http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthre...105#post208105

and this site if you need the portforwarding:

Now that's some cool stuff.

I'm not too worried about limiting the upload speeds.. I believe in sharing... it just annoys me that people can get stuff from me faster than I can get it myself.

But these port changes should help with that.

open your torrents with suprnova.org's new software exeem. It downloads faster than any torrent client I used before. It also has a torrent search option which makes it easier to find torrents you need. You can also configure your upload speed with exeem.
