paysite membership software
Hi,
What is the best paysite membership software? - Payment integration (recurring billing.... doh!) - Prevent password sharing, brute force attacks etc. - Gallery submitting, tumbnail creation ... |
Well umm there is a lil more than that.
Processing (ccbill, epoch, + myrad of other specilized billers). Security (strongbox, pennywize, few others). I will await future questions you may have when they dawn on you regarding this. |

gallery submiting: chameleon submitter
|
Dosent a membership system created for paysites have support for billing systems and security (like ex aMember Pro)?
Thought such a systems had integrated security (like strongbox and pennywiz) and billing support (for NetBilling, ccbill etc). Not looking for a "standard" gallery submitter, but a option to post galleries into the member area. Have been looking at some systems, but cant find any info about billing support and security. |
You sure you are ready to start a membership site?
|
just searching for info, no plans to start this week :P

If your speaking of an affiliate management solution, then yes almost all already have support built in for the major processors. Your security is a seperate issue from your management and your billing. Some management solutions have some built in security, but it is ussually better to use another program to at very least assist it. Your biller will do some or alot of scrubbing as far as transactions go, but they do not do much in the way of preventing brute force attacks, password sharing and the likes. |
So there is no system that can handle everything at once (except billing processor ofcause)
|
Okay,
This is done the same was as "normal" membership site then. I'm used to add the content of member areas manual, so when people talk about systems like SiteDepth, then it's "just" used to automate the process of adding content to the member area of your site. Was hoping to find a CMS than was able to merge those two parts - content and member management. |

Strongbox is the cream of the crop in security software, providing the
only modern defense against password sites, brute force attacks, etc. It'll work with any majorprocessor and also includes a simpel interface for manualy adding members, changing passwords, etc. Strongbox: http://www.bettercgi.com/strongbox/ Here are some good server side scripts for creating and managing members area galleries: Coppermine is a good free open source one: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/ Take a look around the site and look at the demos. As far as the galleries themselves Coppermine is excellent, wth many features and very configurable. WebWare, at http://www.adultwebware.com This is a very full featured one. It's designed to manage not just your galleries, but your whole site. Kind of like a cross between FrontPage and a gallery script I guess you could say. Personally I prefer simple tools that do one thing and do it right, sch as Coppermine, but many webmasters seem to like WebWare. If you mention coupon code "STRONGBOX10" there is a $35 discount. I think that one runs about $350 before the discount. The AWW folks can be reached at [email protected] or on ICQ 166487010. a-ConMan at http://sourceforge.net/projects/a-conman/ and http://www.bettercgi.com/a-conman/screenshots/ This one used to sell for $3,500. It's nice because you can manage several sites from one interfce using one content database. The company went out of business after they lost their programmer and now the script is free and open source. I've taken over as project manager. I don't have a nice web site up for it yet, but it's a reasonably good script. Not worth the $3,500 that some people paid for it, it might be for you if you have $200 in your budget. You can download the script for free but I just started writing the documentation so having me install it will probably save you about 2 days of strugging with it. I charge $200 to install and support it. SiteDepth http://www.sitedepth.com/ I haven't a had a chance to use this one, but I've heard good things about it, it looks to be very profesionally done, and the people involved seem to be nice, helpful people. The above scripts essentially do predefined gallery rotation. One plugin gallery provider wanted dynamic galleries where the user could click on a models name, for example, and get a listing of all galleries with the model. The user could also select a category and get a list of all galleries in that category, or search for all sets of chicks with a-cup boobs, or red hair, or even red headed chicks with a-cup boobs. This is cool because you can make feeder sites instantly. The entire content section of the feeder site is just a call to the script. For example, if you want to have a "big titted redheads" site the members URL would be: /cgi-bin/rmeecontent/psetsearch.cgi?hair=red&brafrom=c&brato=z. For that we made some modifications to my content store script and it really works great. This last script is my favorite for sure, but my taste in scripts may not be the same as yours. All of the above scripts are certified Strongbox compatible. |
sitedepth rocks, its good cheap and easy, been using it for a yr now and it works like a charm, $500 incl installing, if you want a simple cms, sd is the way to go
|
Listen to Ray, StongBox works :thumbsup
