Check out Keyhole, the one they bought... Crazy shit there. Need to give someone directions? Print them with the landmarks right there and tilt it to give them topography.

google is amazing.

I found my house in thirty seconds, but they are off with the street names and have my street labeled wrong.

Impressive.

The searching still isn't that great, but the display part is incredible - love how one scroll the map so easily; very high resolution compared to other sites.

MapQuest to the recycle bin ... no longer need it with Google.

There's no distance scale shown on any of the maps - or am I missing it?

Watch out of they ever get into adult ... anyways, that scrolling thing they do with their maps would be nice addition for adult sites too - instead of having to wait for the next pic/scene to load, one would just drag their mouse over a little and presto ...

Google just gave me directions to my friends house on a freeways route that would be 51 miles, and I normally use Mapquest's route, that's 49 miles! Ouch?

I already do this.

Search for businesses "Red Light District" and especially "Brothel" :1orglaugh

Mapping directions from one point to another isn't easy - personally, I only use mapping sites to aid me in mapping my own route.

Distance alone isn't a good indicator - often times a longer route may still be faster.

The travelling salesperson problem is one that even the most powerful computers have a difficult time with, especially when numerous variables are added, such as the type of road, speed limits, traffic, etc.

Folks who rely on computer mapping alone do so at their peril - I've met so many folks who have gotten lost, been late, etc because they blindly relied on MapQuest, etc.
