Canada did legalize it for medical purposes(consumption and growing) but I understand that it's a bitch to get the paperwork approved. The police up here have an informal policy though of not charging anyone with less the 1/4 ounce of weed; they'll still bust you if you have more then a gram of hash though. As for growing it they are pretty lenient up here. You would usually only receive a fine for growing it. I remember a guy in B.C. got caught growing 4,000 plants(hydro style) and he received a $1,000 fine and that was for stealing the electricity.

That's about thesame situation as here in holland. Weed still isn't legal here no matter what everybody thinks. The only thing that's diffeent with canada is that they 'condone' the selling of weed and hash in so called 'coffee shops'.

It's not legal but it's sold in coffee shops? It it just a law that is still on the books but isn't enfoced? There are lots of those here...including a law against oral sex.

Marijuana is very liberal in Québec, still illegal, but law enforcement for simple possession is easy going.

Just the other night at the Aerosmith concert (Molson Center in Montreal), the place was so smelly and dopey that lead singer Steven Tyler asked the crowd; FUCK, is marijuana legal in this town or what? I havn't been that stone in 10 years, he said!

I've been to concerts in alot of cities and Montreal is one of the only place where the crowd smokes pot and hashish while watching the show. Yeap, it's a nice place http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif

Give the UK a few years and we will be there..atleast for medical reasons (don't get me started!). The gov't just relaxed te laws on how much you can have on you for 'personal' usage.

They are a bit confusing but if they tried to arrest everyone in Britxton that carried a joint there wouldn't be enough time left to go after real criminals.
