GFY layout fucked up in Opera

Hey guys,
I don't know if this was already posted, but the new "RealityCash" ad, makes it impossible to browse GFY with Opera. The ad is always open and clicking the "close button" doesn't change anything.
I know Opera is not used by many ppl, and if this ad stays only for a short time period it doesn't really matter. Just wanted to let you know...

heh, yeah.. it was posted about yesterday... but, no worries.. maybe someone will see it :)
my opera is screwed as well..
everytime I load GFY, or go to the next page, it downloadsloads 5mb worth of data, then it closes the ad, but leaves a big white space obscuring the top 10-15 threads...
oh well...

Go to Quick Preferences and set the User-Agent string to anything but IE. Problem solved.

that intro sucks...
had to switch to IE...

Repetitive Monkey 02-08-2005 09:06 PM

Am I on universal ignore? The solution is to just tell Opera to not fake being IE in the User-Agent string.

tedwinters 02-08-2005 09:33 PM

yeah, but then we get other sites saying they're only compatible with IE :)

as for mozilla, I actually prefer opera.. It's a little quicker, and has nice keyboard surfing qualities..
eg: push the 'z' key to go back a page, 'x' to go forward....
unfortunately, compatibility wise, opera sucks ass..

yes, it's a opera problem imho - their flash player don't support transparent flash
but Lensman and Co must don't forget it
