can anyone help me with this please? i have emailed iFriends 4 times in the last 5-6 weeks trying to get this guy shut down.

iFriends is not emailing me back or doing anything about his account. go figure.

the offender is spamming through emails and icq, with links to dozens of freehosted pages...all of them are chock full o' stolen content. he has remaned me "Nadia" and claims I am from Russia using my stolen pics:

Theres not much that can be done about people like this. I know a bunch of girls who are on hush-hush.com without them even knowing about it. Hush-hush will do nothing about it because they simply don't care.

All you can really do is watermark and tag (place a URL that cannot be removed, ie: large text with a transparency) every single image http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/frown.gif

If it were me, I'd use Photoshop to add a penis onto the forehead of all your pics. Content thieves are far less likely to steal pictures of naked women with penises on their forehead when there are so many photos with no forehead-penises.

i have my images marked, he wrote over them with black rectangles and text... if you look at the bottom corners you will see what i am talking about. not only has he stolen my content he is also modifying it.

the main problem is he is using dozens of free hosted pages. dozens of them. i cannot track them all down.

all of the stuff he is doing is for iFriends referrals. personally i had nothing against iFriends before this.

i believe iFriends should be able to track his accounts down and stop paying him. in the meantime i have to do all the footwork tracking down every page he has and reporting it to the host and again reporting it to iFriends.

Hi Amber, This is exactly what I was talking to another webmaster about just this afternoon. Ifriends won't do anything because you have signed your rights over to them for your images it's in the contract you sign with them...So the only way to stop maggots like this isto do it on your own. Which is somewhat impossible with them popping up everytime you turn around. Sorry to hear your having such a hard time with this webmaster...I've seen alot more than that out there and they use different names on the pics and steal your clickcash money...really sad!! I've been with Ifriends since they opened the site. And even back then trying to get anything done was almost impossible

Amber ... You may want to try some standard protection features that prevent copying ...

Right Click Disable ... a common Java Script is one ... although it can be limited in it's effectiveness ...

There are now features available on Adobe Photoshop 6 and Ulead Photoimpact 6 that will slice the images into several pieces ...

That way if the image is copied ... the pirate only gets a small piece of it ... and has to go through the major pain of trying to put all of the pieces together ...

It might go a long way towards solving your problem ... if not now ... at least in the future ...

hehe, i am not on iFriends, nor have i ever been. i run my own amateur site with my own webcam, completely independent of any other sites. i have exlusive worldwide copyright on all my content, made by me and licensed to me only.

i have emailed the guy, no response.

i have emailed @home, no repsonse.

i have emailed iFriends, no repsoonse.

right click disable works only if java is on, and you can still view source. i am in the middle of altering all my images into layers but this guy is stealing my live webcam images, i can only do so much with those. as it is he is over writing my copyright mark i have located on all my live images.

How is this guy stealing your live webcam images?

If that's the problem ... have you looked into Windows or Real password protected streams which, from what I understand, can't be copied?

Same goes for Digital Rights Management streams or downloads ... available in Windows format ...

I know that Streambox VCR and ASF Recorder won't work with those types of protected streams --- but I'm not sure about screen capture programs like Camtasia --- which might be able to capture single images regardless ... although I've heard the quality is poor ...

Note: OK ... forget Right Click Disable ... Geez ... I didn't claim it was foolproof ... LOL

i am just upset that he is spamming, frauding, stealing, and none of these paying sponsers are doing anything about it.

big "reputable" sponser iFriends to top it off. apparently some sponsers only care about all mighty green, not about running an honest and reliable company.

quite honestly i would be all over this guy like stank on poo if i owned said sponsor company. one would think he would refrain from pulling this again if all his income was shut down. I understand what you're saying Amber ... but unfortunately there's a million scumbags like this guy who do this everyday ...

I know a bunch of webmasters who've had the same problem with people stealing their stuff and setting up competing websites in one form or another ...

Then the burden's on the webmaster to get them removed with tremendous hassle or, as in your case, with no luck at all and no response from the responsible parties ...

The only solution, as far as I can see, is to prevent the copying in the first place ...
either with the previously mentioned slicing of the pics, protected webcam streams or whatever ...

Or ... you could try placing your url more prominently centered on the pics or webcam images so the url is intact even with cropping ...

But even with more transparency on the url --- that kind of placement can be really annoying to legit customers ... Although some webmasters do it anyway ...

The bottom line, in my opinion, is that copy prevention is the only way to prevent this kind of thing from happening ...
