I don't know about the rest of the country, but I know people in most of those professions here in MD and they make a lot more than what is listed.

Mostly liberal professions. Of course it's a mean so there's many people who make a lot more than that.

But most liberal professions = work work work otherwise no $

They said it's the mean value. If that is true exactly half make above what's listed and exactly half make below what's listed in each of the professions listed.

Using the mean is actually a lot more useful than using the average in this case. Averages are much more misleading. You can have 100's of guys making pennies and one guy making millions and the average would look like $20. When in reality most are making pennies.

Now a days a pharmacist can make bewtween 50 and 70 bucks.

The reason Webmaster isn't listed as a 6 figure a year job is because for everyone in this industry that does make over 6 figures there is 100 fools that cant even put cereal on the table!

Geez those numbers seem kinda low. My dad is a factory worker at Chrysler and makes like 70k/year. If those numbers are right who the fuck would be a doctor for only that much, fuck that shit.

I think you have arthematic mean (average) mixed up with median (midpoint of a sample).

I agree with your basic point though, a median sample would be much more informative. However, I suspect that the median in many of these cases would be lower than the average... you know that there are some doctors out there that are making waaaaaaaaaay above average pay, and would pull the average up. Ideally, if they could give median, mean, and 5%/95% values for the curve, you could get a near perfect idea of what a particular profession can yield. :2 cents:

Commercial electricians make a shitload of money. So do general contractors. They weren't listed.

Can't really include webmaster on that list since it's had to come up with the average entrepreneur's income. I'm sure the over all average on GFY is 4000 - 5000 per year.

Hmmm... One of my sites generate more money per year than most of the career fields in that list. But then again everything around here is many times as expensive as in the states.
