alternative cancer treatments, without consideration to expense

anyone know of some places that might actually give a chance to someone who's been labeled terminal, price not a consideration?

i met a woman once who had breast cancer and was told it was not operable...she took some time to seek out alternative treatments...she told me this actually put her into remission

http://www.immunesupport.com/progreens.htm

my wife takes it everyday and has not been sick in over 2 years...it does insane things for your immune system

I see commercials on TV for Cancer Treatment Centers or America... they advertise many alternatives. http://www.cancercenter.com/ <- I'm pretty sure that's their web site. Good luck.

Quiet, do a search for "laetrile" or "apricot seeds / apricot kernels." It's been banned in the USA even though it's been proven to cure cancer within some of it's stages. I haven't done much research, but apparently the FDA doesn't like anything that is natural curing, no money in it. So they pretty much banned it all here in the USA. I don't know the whole story or to much about it regarding the FDA, but i know people that go to cancer centers in Mexico to get it. Many claim it saved their lives. The few people i know that are on it, swear by it.

just a quick something i picked up in a search.

"Why are Laetrile and many other substances used in alternative-cancer therapy not readily available in the U.S.?

The short answer is that these substances are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The full answer, however, is a bit more complex. The reason they do not carry approval is that they have not undergone the extensive FDA testing that all new drugs must pass before being approved for common use. That?s the law in the United States. This process takes years of research work, requires tens of thousands of pages of reports, and costs hundreds of millions of dollars. The only firms that can afford this are large pharmaceutical companies. Not even they will undertake such expense unless they can eventually make a profit through sales, and that means they must obtain a patent on the substance being tested. However, substances found in nature cannot be patented, only man-made chemicals and processes can. Since Laetrile and many other substances used in alternative-cancer treatments are found in nature, they cannot be patented. That means they will never be tested according to FDA protocol."

Hey Quiet..my mother had malignant agressive cancer in both breasts. She was not terminal but it was pretty serious. She got her treatments & surgeries at USC and Cedars Sinai here in LA but she swears that the Life Extension program she was put on (http://www.lef.org/) saved her life. It was highly recommended by her doctors as well as nutritionists..

There are not any known alternative treatments that actually work...though some people claim that they do...just as some claim that faith healers actually heal. Admittedly there are some cases that go into remission by both alternative treatments and faith healing that are unxplainable by the medical world...other than they believe it was not the treatment or the healing that actually caused the remission.

Where is the cancer located and what type is it?
I have done some extensive research on alternative treatments for two family members but the treatments are dependant upon type and location.

this is true however, if someone believes enough in what they want, most of the time it will work. i, for one, do not believe in alternative medicine but if that was my only option and i really wanted it to work, the mind can do mysterious things.

There could be a modicum of truth in what you are saying and may explain remissions that the medical world cannot explain...who knows?

ABSOLUTELY that, and drink about 1-2oz of Essaic tea 3 times a day for several months...

I'll post a few links with some other information for ya in a few...

there are several decent alternative therapies that have tons of 'anecdotal' support...but you know what, when I hear of 100s or 1000s of people being helped by those therapies I wouldn't give a shit weather or not it was backed officially or just psychosomatic...the result is what matters

SleazyDream 02-09-2005 01:18 AM

good luck

Tala 02-09-2005 01:21 AM

I wish I could help, but I'm going about my stuff via the VA hospital...which may or may not be the best route, but I'm doing okay.

All my best to you and yours, quiet.

I'm so sorry Dave.

heres a great book by Dr Andrew Weil
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...681371-5939834
they have an audio cd/tape available too.

he basically says that the human body can heal itself but the food we eat has so many toxic chemicals in it that clogs up the body's healing process and thats where disease comes from. He's very popular and I think he's very good.

His program will have you go through your kitchen and throw out anything with certain ingredients, and start drinking lots of green tea, certain fruits, nuts, vegetables and specific supplements. No meat except certain kinds of fish. He really knows his stuff.

hope this helps
