Plugin Content question

Ive always used standard content but thinking of switching over to plugin content, does it hurt retention since i guess many sites would end up sharing the same content?

If that's the bulk of what you offer your member then yes. If it is used along with other content....more specifically exclusive content...Then it's an added feature and can help with retention.

Surfers love exclusive content.

Second would be non-exclusive but not watered down.\

Third would be plug-ins. IMO plugins should be an add on to a site, not the main content.

add it as a "want more?" feature or a "similar" picts area if your script allows that

More like "We added this content to you our loyal members as a bonus!"

I am testing some plug ins now and hoping to boost retention with them , I dont think you could use them as stand alone and hope for a lot of renewals

Alright thanks for the help and the spammed links, will check them out.

plugins are definitely good for filler, but shouldn't be the main focus
although, having seen the plugins from pluginfeeds.com, they are almost good enough for a site of nothing but feeds...

and if you need big dick plugin content, check out http://www.monstercockproject.com/main.php ;-)

You are correct about the Plugin Feeds ... and all feeds actually.

It's good to make sure each site has some unique "niched" content, but sharing some content across sites won't hurt your retention. Many members don't go to the other offered member areas, so crossing content doesn't hurt.

Through my years of experience with selling feeds, members eat them up ... regardless if you have a natural busty site, some hardcore feeds will be watched over and over. You have to remember that although a member signs up for one niche doesn't mean they don't like different stuff as well.

Yes, plugins are great as an add-on. ...but you want to make sure to have plenty of your own content also.
We offer our sites as plugins:
