Service Pack 2 pop-up blocker blocks "target=_new"

Just noticed it.
It blocks target="new" and target="_blank" links.

Damn, that sucks.

polish_aristocrat 02-07-2005 09:03 AM

huh, target blank works fine for me on my site and i have SP2 installed

Fake Nick 02-07-2005 09:05 AM

same here, although sometimes it gets blocked here but not by sp2 but by the google toolbar

DarkJedi 02-07-2005 09:11 AM

strange.
maybe it's new ?

when was the last time you updated your windows xp ?

nico-t 02-07-2005 09:13 AM

they overreact their need to block everything, normal sites always have a target="_blank" link somewhere, its crazy they try to block that.

calmlikeabomb 02-07-2005 09:15 AM

target=blank works just fine for me.

I have sp2 and 2 different google toolbars installed.

that only happens when you set the popup blocker to "high"
in medium mode it doesn't block target new links

You probably forgot to close the quotes, creating an error and not letting the window open.

True. If it's on high you can hit the Ctrl button while clicking and the blocked window will open.

Ok.. the question on my mind now is how many surfers surf with the control on high?

What was it set at default I forget?
