I just had a domain pulled by NameCheap

I have a friend who uses a subdomain on it, but hes not into spamming... in fact he cant even build a proper gallery yet

why would a domain registrar pull the domain... all i've ever seen is non-payment or fraud.

hows your whois look? is it trademarked?

The whois uses NameCheaps whois protection so that is fine, and its a generic domain with no trademark issues

Most registrars have an AUP and can pull domains, but only GoDaddy seem to enforce it...... until now it seems

Wow please tell us why when you find out I always like to keep a heads up on what's going on in the domain world

Who knows, maybe just maybe they had a good reason for pulling the domain.

It turns out that NameCheap just resell for Enom - and it was enom that put it on hold

I think namecheap's whois protection reserves the right to suspend service and publish your identity if they find the content of the site morally objectionable. Here's an exerpt from their terms: "...if it comes to Backend Service Provider's attention that You are alleged to be using the WG Services for purposes of engaging in, participating in, sponsoring or hiding Your involvement in illegal or morally objectionable activities, including but not limited to, activities which are designed, intended to or otherwise: (i) appeal primarily to prurient interests;...."

I'm tempted to start an organized registrar blacklist. :-)

That's a great idea that I would love for somebody to take the time to get done. Not me though, I'm too damn busy, as are every other person who has come up with that idea over the last 4 years..... You gonna be the one to finally make it happen? :thumbsup if you do :upsidedow
