GET THE FUCK OUT!

It's EVERYWHERE! If you can't spell, how in the hell do you expect to be taken seriously?

not everyone knows perfect English here, so lets not make a big deal out of it. If you discriminate based on spelling, then poor you.

I'm not talking about posting here. I'm talking about "GET OUT" of the industry. This is a business. Would you buy a computer from a store that had a sign in the window that stated "We sales comptuers right heres! Come and buys now!"?

Actually, he does have a point. There's nothing worse than going to a website and seeing grammar & spelling errors all over the page. The company is who ends up looking ignorant, not the DESIGNER who made it. The other day I went to a site that the woman who owns it would like revamped and the "their" "there" and "they're" usage was all fucked up, along with you, your, and you're... there was actually a "you's" on the page, instead of "use" LMFAO The original designer spelled all sorts of things wrong, "gallory" and "descripsion" were my favorites! :winkwink: :1orglaugh

I speak two languages, English being my second, and although I will make a mistake here and there, I do make efforts to learn and not make them again.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people using "kreativ" spelling because they're (or it is they are :winkwink: ) too dumb to do otherwise.

That being said, speaking more than one language is not an excuse to mess things up. That's especially true when you're representing yourself as a business. Too many use the "English isn't my first language" as an excuse when they shouldn't.

Dude that's really not fair. How many times have you spoken to someone with English as a second language and they misuse plural by mistake? It happens. I think people who speak another language and English is their second deserve a bit of leeway.

Heck, if when I went to Mexico the people were really critical and treated me like GFYers do to 2nd language English folk, I would have felt like an ass for even TRYING. I don't think that's a message we should send out in this business or anywhere in the world for that matter.

Brad, you have to differentiate between what goes on in one's social life and what goes on in business. I have several friends who learned English as a second language. So yes, I have spoken to many that misused plural by mistake. But mistakes are meant to be corrected and I always try to give a friendly helping hand in cases like this.

When it comes down to business, it's common courtesy to at least check your spelling before doing a post, sending an email or...loading up a site.

It's one thing to being unaware and to make mistakes, it's another to not rectify them.
