y does my mouse slow down?

y does my mouse slow down when my comp is doing lots of processes (like creating 800MB .bin files for example, which is what i'm doing right now) ????

i don't think the mouse should ever be unresponsive.

does it have anything to do with the usb port?

open the mouse and clean it.

it's an optical mouse, the mouse itself is perfectly fine. the slow-down occurs on screen when the computer is really busy... using almost 100% of its resources. i don't think this should happen ever, regardless of the resources usage, but it does.

You answered your own question.... "using 100% of resources." If you're using a hundred percent of your cpu, well, there isn't much else you can squeeze out of it.

I suggest... format c:

make boot disk.
boot to boot disk
make sure you copy fdisk.com
and format.com to boot disk.
write protect the new boot disk.
boot with the new boot disk.
type fdisk
answer yes for Max space
from menu, go down to delete partition
answer yes to are you sure.

Should solve not only your mouse problem
but computer problems for a few days.

Ya, pretty simple. Try rebooting first.
