I Need A Host That's Not A DICK!

Just yesterday I had a website... (yea who knew?)

We have a forum (sorta like Stile Project) where members post images and videos of dead people, naked girls and links to all kinds of 'college humor' crap. One of my members uploaded a bunch of pics and one of them had a "Suicidal Girls" logo on it...

Well, I'm down at Mardi Gras, (w00t!) taking pictures and just tonight, I go to plug in at the lobby. Was gonna upload some pics, but... Banned...

Yea, I guess the owner or whoever of the pics contacted my host. He wrote me some 5 paragragh bullshit email yesterday, telling me about how he 'takes his hosting company seriously' and to remove it in 3 hours or else. I was about a day late.

But I'm really offended. He talked down to me like, becuse I run a college humor site, that I'm not as professional as he. Because even though my content is all bullshit, I take my bullshit seriously.

That some people get easily offended by my media and somehow, they're compelled to jump on AOL and send emails to hosts...

ya i have had that problem in the past.i have posted beheading stuff. i have been linked by goregasm, ogrish, but i have always been on good terms with all my hosts.

Yea, I don't get where these people 'get off' thinking that it's illegal to post dead people pics- and feel the need to spam you and your host.

What I REALLY don't get is where your host takes it seriously, rather than clicking the 'Junk Mail' button.

There has got to be SOME cool hosts out there...

I'm guessing that the host was not so concerned about the nature of your board, but that the poster used images he had no rights to .. in other words .. violating US and international copyright laws .. this could get the host (and you) into mucho trouble .. should the actual owner (as you suspected) acted to protect his property ..

Host have to much power over their clients.

When you sign up, you agree to a 3 page Terms of Service, that basically says: "We can pull the plug on you for saying fucker", but yet, they agree to nothing.
