The Buenos Aires Webmaster Gathering
 

I just got back from the last "official" meeting at the Buenos Aires webmaster gathering. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who participated, the sponsors who picked up meal tabs and bought us all more beer than we needed, and all the new contacts and friends I made.

These South American guys are incredible. Many of them have a very low profile, and aren't known at all on any of the boards. They works hard as hell, they know their shit, and they do most of it in english as a second language when half the North American webmasters can't even speak their first language correctly.

If you don't know any of the guys that attended this gathering, you should make it a point to snoop around, find them, and get to know them. They can help your traffic, your paysites, and they are all around a great bunch of guys and girls.

It was fun, interesting and educational, can't wait for next year!

A bump for the saturday night drunks just waking up today... :)

I couldn't make it this time been too damn busy and i'm only a 1hr flight away :( i don't think jorge could wait until next year for another meeting (previous one was in december) so let's say see you next time ;)

I understand B.A.'s a hell of a city. :)

It was a lot of fun. I didn't even make it to everything that was going on.

It's already being planned as an anual or semi-anual event. As it becomes more organized there's going to be some serious business happening down here. It was all a lot more serious than I thought it was going to be. My first thoughts were that it would, more or less, be a bunch of webmasters sitting around eating and drinking and bullshitting, but it turned out to be much more.

There was plenty of eating, drinking and bullshitting, of course :) But as people moved around and got to know each other, there was a lot happening. I found a lot of new people I can't wait to work with, heard tons of new ideas, and learned a lot from everyone.
