gateway or dell? Help me choose
 

Looking to get a new desktop,

I called both gateway and dell, and both of em loved talking shit about the other.

What are your experiences with either?

I had a horrible experience with Gateway many years ago. I've bought 3 Dell desktops and 2 laptops since then and have been quite happy. My son's getting ready to buy another Dell desktop :)

My mom bought a laptop from gateway and it broke like 2 months after she got it.

I got my dell in march and ive been happy with no problems since.

Yeah everyone I talk to leans towards dell it seems, I hear nothing but good things.

My only problem with them is whenever I call them, I get some outsourced lady who has no clue as to what shes talking about.

I hit their online chat yesterday and got someone who said something like "Hello, my name is Nureara. But you can call me Sheroersa".

LOL! Like the second name was SO much easier than the first :1orglaugh

gateway sucks ass. had one for the first computer I got. It was a total piece of shit. I love my Dell!!

I love my Dell, no issues and their service kicks ass.

Dell, next question. Maybe IBM, except they are being bought by China...

My Gateway power supply fried and it fried my motherboard, althought it took Gateway abot a month to figure it out and find replacement parts WITH warranty. This cost me a $10k contract I was working on
Bought a Dell next with just about no problem although one of the Maxtor drives I bought from them fried and I lost a bunch of data. Just bought another Dell last week as a backup since my last one is going on 3 years, I don't want any surprises, but the old one still works well, so go with DELL.

We use 3 dells and they have been excellent so far.

don't go with fucking gateway. those are fucking terrible desktops along with hp and compaq.

You can't go wrong with Dell.

No contest. Get a Dell.
