Question about trade shows...........
 

So i invited one of our affalties that is pretty quiet but a nice guy to come to our party. He see;s the invite and goes.

yo man, lemme ask you something. You go to a lot of these parties and conventions... arent you worried about the pics being taken.. who you might see, etc. I dont want to be pushing porn for the rest of my life, and im scared of going to conventions/parties for that reason.. dont know if I want to meet people in person :p

What would you say to that guy? Im more worried about being caught with drugs or arressted that at a porn party.

some people are ashamed at what they do...or don't want others knowing their line of business, he does have some points in that if he starts a respectable Company regarding like toys for children etc. if someone would find this.. maybe they would think he is misfit for his position because of what he has done prior in his years.

Well if that's what you're worried about then you got to do what you got to do. You have to ask yourself where you think you'll be in 20 years. If you think it will have a negative impact then don't do something you think that could harm your future reputation. If you don't think you'll be a CEO of some mainstream company you can avoid most pictures and look through FubarWebmasters and have those removed at your request.

Dont worry about the small things ........... You would be surprised how many times I have heard of similar things. That is part of the reason we do not have names up on FUBAR. But I will be at the party with camera in tow :thumbsup

Persius im very proud of what i do thou as i get older I tend to get quieter about my job. When I was 21 I was telling everyone of my freinds.

I would be worried about speding a night in jail for assault at he bar, or getting caught witha hooker drugs or something else than have been seen witha Nakkid Chick. And if your future boss looks and finds you ona porn site what does that say about him/her? hehe PERV

Precious, I'd say it depends on "what" you do in the industry. If you are on the technical side it can be a huge step up when you start looking for another job or listed on your resume. Everyone knows the adult industry is cutting edge for internet technology. This goes for programmers and designers absolutely!

If you are on the other side of the camera, you made that decision when you signed that model release. Still, that is definitely something you should think about. I am concerned about the "I'll only do it this one time to make rent money" model that will regret it years from now.

Marketing/sales...my part. I am a newbie, I have been in this industry since 1997. I have held positions in sales... office management for a content company and now I am back in sales and customer service for a fantastic company. I am older than most and I know I will NEVER run for political office or attempt to hold a position where it matters, that is just not a place where I would want to work. I have always told my family and friends what I do.

It has never been an issue for me and I believe it never will be. I try to not get too crazy at the company held parties where pictures can be taken and will haunt me inthe future.

I find myself in that position now. I got released from my full time adult job. Now I'm looking for work because Ilike the 9-5. I have two options. Go Back into adult or keep looking. The onlything is all I have for the past five years as a reference is a pychopathic paranoid schizophrenic asshole who has tried to black ball me in the industry because of his dementia.

Now when I apply for mainstrem jobs all I have to show is 5 years of waste. Its a good thing I still have references for be fore that or I'd be fucked.

I am not ashamed of what I do and there are hundreds of pictures of me out there on the internet from the shows.

HOWEVER, if there is talk of one of the mainstream shows filming somewhere, I'm the first one to leave. :(

If he's looking beyond being in the adult industry, then I'd say he's not taking it seriously and should make a switch now. If you are in adult just to make headway towards another career you've already made one mistake.

I got into this because I was tired of my work making other people successful. I don't look past what I do. I don't worry about what others think. I wear my GFY sweater proudly and tell people what GFY is (and who it is for).

I had the corporate job and the people were total backstabbing asses. I don't see nearly that kind of attitude in adult. I plan on staying here until they bury my carcass six feed under - even if I have a laptop with me at the retirement home's bingo room (hey, i'd be the most popular resident!).

If one day I should leave the business and get into a mainstream career again (I hope not) then I will hide nothing and if they don't like it ...
