Which CreditCard to get (Reward/Points)?

I think I am missing out a big chance to get free flights / cheaper first class tickets by paying my bills with my crappy visa or mastercard.
Which card get's me the most for every buck I spend. Should I go with AMEX and their rewards program or should I get a certain companies card like that one: https://www.chasecreditcard.com/continental/

??
Card newbee here... any comments appreciated. :winkwink:

i get amex points.
i don't really fly so i'm not enrolled in a frequent flyer program.
i really like amex's membership rewards though. its worth checking out.

I just heard that most of the airlines won't let you upgrade to first class with just amex reward points.. anyone has more infos on that?

i use bluecash from amex and before that i had bank1 visa. they both pay over 1% cash back for purchases. it adds up pretty good since i pretty much pay for everything possible with my credit card.
